Off the trail

I wonder how much of our world would have been discovered if all the pioneers kept to the developed paths and roads. Very little right? Growth and discovery would have been relegated to sprawl demanded by running out of space instead of through the freedom of the pioneer spirit.

Have you ever had a problem that would not get fixed by all the tried methods or stale approaches...the road most traveled so to speak? If so, it might be time to get off the beaten path and find the pioneer inside of you. It's there. God put it there.

What would happen if leaders quit following historical patterns that simply aren't working. Sometimes things aren't working because they stinking just don't work. Sometimes things aren't working because what used to work simply isn't going to work anymore. A fun part about this life is people and cultures change. Antiquated systems that worked in the 1950's are outdated.

If pioneering takes courage status quo does not.

Jesus talked about this very phenomenon is Matthew Chapters 5-7. If you care to, read His brilliance and apply it to the problems of the day. Notice Matthew 7:13-14. Enter through the narrow gate. For wide is the gate and broad is the road that leads to destruction, and many enter through it. But small is the gate and narrow the road that leads to life, and only a few find it.

Doing things just because that's the way they have always been done is a well worn road and is stupid. Accomplished people do what works and when it no longer works, they delve into the pioneer DNA of the Father - transferred to them, and with assistance from Holy Spirit they invent the next solution. Status quo doesn't do that. Ever.

During our upcoming Accelerant Conference from March 14-18; (www.accelerant.rocks.com) I'll be talking about personal governance. Sometimes we hold onto things that God intends for us to let go of. This causes stagnation and inhibits our promotion. This is super important. How can He promote us to the next, if we stubbornly hold onto the past.

Perhaps it's time to get off the beaten path of self-preservation and self-promotion and onto the uncertain road of discovering something new (requires faith). I bet you find He has your promotion waiting for you. Me too:)
