As each year end approaches, prophetic voices throughout the world supplement already rigid personal protocols in abiding in Jesus, with an even more earnest awareness of what the Father is speaking into the next season. This year, as 2020 rapidly approached, simultaneous to focusing my attention to what the Lord would have me bring prophetically, I found myself wondering just who the audience would even be?
Those versed in the New Testament authoritative structure will find prophets playing a role as heaven's conduit to earth. When we delve into Ephesians 2-4 and 1 Corinthians 12-14, we discover the God sends prophets for very specific purposes. In tandem with apostles, prophets are used to rely mysteries from heaven, they are used for comfort, encouragement and exhortation. Along with teachers, they reveal understanding, revelation, and knowledge all for the purpose of connecting His sons and daughters directly to Him.
When you study, you find Jesus is the cornerstone of prophesy. You find that prophets see in part and the more they expound on what they are hearing and seeing, the more they risk adding in their own private thoughts and maybe even agendas.
Over the next several days I will be expressing what I see from my prophetic seat for this season. Then on January 9th, I will be launching a 9-week class entitled "heart of a modern prophet". As I do, I don't want to make the same mistake that a major American news network made when announced a hire of a new evening news anchor. At the announcement, the new anchor said "...we not only will tell you the news, we will tell you what it means, and tell you what it means to you". Instead, I'll pray the Holy Spirit tell you what it means and what it means to you.
When the Lord gives me words of knowledge and or revelation, it is generally very short and accompanied with mili-second downloads of understanding into my spirit man. It frequently takes me weeks or longer to unpack the downloads to where I can translate it into the English language and present it with some resemblance of the intense love He carries for all of us.
Above all, I hope to speak and write with the countenance of a son who see's the future and the future is bright in God. He is the alpha and omega, the beginning and the end. Despite how intense the times may become given our culture struggling so apparently with hopelessness, Heaven's answer is Jesus and Jesus answer is us.
"For the earnest expectation of the creation eagerly awaits for the revealing of the sons of God". It's time!
